Job description
This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office (City of London location) and 2 days working from home.
Role Purpose:
The Operational Resilience Manager will play a key role in ensuring the banks’ ability to prevent, respond to and recover from operational disruptions impacting its services. This role is responsible for working with the business and key stakeholders to embed the Operational Resilience principles in line with regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as the subject matter expert on operational resilience, offering insights, guidance, and training to ensure a thorough understanding of resilience principles across all levels
- Leading the identification, assessment, and mitigation of vulnerabilities within operational processes, ensuring timely and effective responses to potential threats
- Conducting comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential disruptions and implementing strategies to mitigate identified risks
- Completion of the banks Operational Resilience self-assessment
- Developing, maintaining, and co-ordinate testing across important business services to demonstrate that the organisation can continue critical operations during and after a disruption
- Overseeing incidents that impact the banks Important Business services, ensuring that they are effectively managed and investigated
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and industry bodies, to ensure compliance with operational resilience standards and best practices
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to operational resilience, ensuring they are aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Preparing and presenting regular reports on the status of operational resilience to senior management and relevant committees
- Conducting training sessions and awareness programs to enhance the understanding and importance of operational resilience within the organisation
Skills and Experience sought:
- Proven experience in operational resilience, risk management or related fields within financial services
- Full understanding of Operational Resilience, including an understanding of regulatory requirements, including PRA SS2/21 and related frameworks
- Experience in scenario testing, incident management planning and business continuity/disaster recovery
- Knowledge of Operational Risk management practices and resilience
- Ability to map processes, systems and interdependencies
- Strong analytical and presentational skills, helping to identify vulnerabilities and work to propose effective solutions
- Great communication skills; listening, delivering and written
- Ability to work in a team as well as on your own
- Strong relationship building skills with key stakeholders
- Deliver within tight timescales with attention to detail
- Ability to analyse, deliver and train others
