United Trust Bank Named ‘Best Charity Account Savings Provider’ in the Moneynet Awards 2025

United Trust Bank (UTB) has been named ‘Best Charity Account Savings Provider’ in the Moneynet Personal Finance Awards 2025.

The annual awards, run by Moneynet.co.uk, the independent personal finance website and comparison service, are in their 15th year and recognise the best providers and financial products from the last 12 months.

In response to charities wishing to make more of their cash reserves whilst also satisfying their liquidity needs, UTB introduced what it believes to be a unique feature amongst UK Notice Charity Deposit accounts. Once per year, account holders can withdraw up to 20% of their Notice Account balance without notice and without penalty, enabling them to benefit from higher rates of interest whilst allowing them to respond to unplanned or emergency situations quickly.

In addition, UTB also expanded the types of charities to which it can provide accounts. These now include Charitable Company (Limited by Guarantee), Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), Excepted Charities and Exempt Charities that benefit UK and overseas.

UTB’s winning start to 2025 follows a successful year for the Bank with its savings business picking up four awards in 2024 contributing to an overall tally of seventeen award wins across the Bank’s deposits and lending divisions.

“UTB is one of few AF funders which encourages direct contact between brokers and underwriters, and we have shown that this close relationship delivers excellent outcomes for brokers, their customers, and the Bank.”

Andrew Hagger, head of the Moneynet Awards judging panel commented: “Fluctuating interest rates have made it another challenging year for providers and borrowers, with savers still enjoying some of the best returns for many years. The best providers adapted to changing market conditions and outperformed their peers, delivering excellent choice, value, and innovative solutions for their customers.

“There have been many impressive, best buy deals, with most of the action in the fast moving and ultra-competitive savings space. We continue to celebrate innovative new product developments, which help people get a better deal on their finances, and Moneynet is once again proud to recognise the best in the market for their outstanding achievements.”

Niki Cole, Business Development Manager – Charities at United Trust Bank, commented: “We are delighted that our Deposit Team’s hard work and commitment to delivering a great deal for our charity customers has been recognised with this award.

“The benefits for charities switching to better paying accounts and those with flexible withdrawal features are clear, but many may not realise how much extra revenue they could generate by being smarter with the cash they have. As a new year begins, it’s a great time to review your accounts and we would welcome the opportunity to help any charity ensure their surplus cash is working as hard as it can, so please get in touch.
