United Trust Bank (UTB) has won the ‘Secured Loan Lender of the Year’ award for the second year running at the 2021 Mortgage Introducer Awards. It is the 4th award UTB’s Mortgage division have picked up this year for its Second Charge Loan proposition and recognises the Bank’s achievements in navigating turbulent market conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Many lenders chose or were forced to stop or severely restrict their lending in 2020. However, UTB decided to support brokers with a range of product and process enhancements including the introduction of lockdown beating technology. The Bank’s positive approach was widely welcomed by brokers across the country.
UTB was also delighted that Robert Owen, former Managing Director – Mortgages & Bridging at United Trust Bank received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ in recognition of his considerable contribution to the Mortgage industry over a long and successful career. Robert retired from UTB earlier in the summer of 2021.
Buster Tolfree – Director – Mortgages, commented: “I’m delighted that once again UTB’s efforts to support brokers during a very difficult period have been recognised. The team overcame considerable challenges to deliver new products, integrate Fintech into our processes and all the time provide exceptional broker and customer service.
“I would also like to congratulate Robert Owen for his Lifetime Achievement Award. His contribution to the mortgage industry over a distinguished career has been immense. Robert and I worked closely together until his retirement earlier this year and I’m sure it gave him great satisfaction to see a product and offering he helped to establish winning yet another award!”
