This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office (City of London location) and 2 days working from home.

Role Purpose:

  • To proactively respond to requests for bridging finance from brokers/applicants for regulated and non-regulated transactions
  • To manage the underwriting and due diligence process from loan application to loan drawdown

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Make lending decisions in line with Credit Risk Policy and individual mandate level
  • Adhere to internal underwriting policy and regulatory requirements – FCA, PRA, Money Laundering, Prevention of Financial Crime, Data Protection, etc.
  • Work with Internal Sales to progress cases from DIP to drawdown
  • Preparing a detailed Credit Paper with all appropriate conditions and presenting the proposition to Credit Committee
  • Instructing Valuers and Solicitors
  • Following sanction from the relevant mandate holders, preparing/reviewing the offer letter and accompanying documents and being proactive in ensuring that all loan conditions have been met and the case moves efficiently to drawdown
  • Ensuring that information concerning each loan is accurately and comprehensively entered into the Bank’s electronic systems, both prior to and upon drawdown
  • The hand over to the Servicing teams Loan Administrators, a complete file with all post completion activities completed in accordance with the Bank’s Policy and Process

 

Skills and Experience sought:

  • Highly motivated individual, committed to providing outstanding service to customers and clients
  • Ability to analyse, negotiate and structure potential bridging loans in line with credit policy and present to Credit Committee when required
  • Ability to form and maintain close working relationships with intermediaries, and professionals e.g. solicitors and Valuers
  • Ability to communicate on different levels, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight timescales whilst paying attention to detail
  • A good team player, willingness to help their team to achieve its goals
  • Commitment to high level of customer service

 

Essential Experience

  • Previous Bridging, Underwriting or lending experience within the property environment
  • Professional communication skills, able to communicate with businesses and colleagues by telephone, email and face to face
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment
  • Liaising with Introducers and/or external customers

 

Desirable Experience

  • Previously held or currently holds a lending mandate
  • 2+ years Bridging/Internal sales/Business development /Underwriting Experience
