Business Development Manager | Deposits

This is a hybrid role – 3 days in the office (City of London location) and 2 days working from home.

Role Purpose: 

 A member of the UTB Deposit Solutions Team who are responsible for developing a diverse portfolio or deposit balances from several markets:

  • Working within Deposit Solutions Team to generate and drive new business activity
  • Analysing prospect data and targeting opportunities in line with agreed target sectors
  • Leveraging new business tools to promote the UTB Deposits proposition and increase contact in the prospect pools
  • Identifying and Developing relationships with Key Business Introducers (KBIs) such as lawyers, accountants

Responsibilities:

  • To support and drive the raising of new deposits in line with UTB Deposits strategy
  • Being responsible for calling programmes and managing prospect lists
  • Build and relationship manage a network of firms for introducer business
  • Work alongside Marketing team to further support business development activity
  • Use product knowledge and market expertise to sell, market and develop the Banks proposition within agreed target sectors
  • Utilise existing networks of commercial decision makers and treasury teams to promote UTB Deposits proposition
  • Help to manage the team’s pipeline and opportunities using CRM system
  • Keeping track of new products on offer in the wider deposits market and feedback to UTB Product team
  • Weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reporting of volumes and performance
  • Attendance at networking events and conferences relevant to the target sector

Skills and Experience sought:

  • Proven experience working in a business development role, ideally within a deposits team
  • Strong relationship management experience
  • Experience in managing relationships with Professional Practices
  • Good understanding of UK savings market – products, market participants etc.
  • Good understanding of compliance aspects of deposit taking (e.g. KYC)
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercial outlook, with a passion for delivering positive customer outcomes
  • Strong communication skills: listening, oral, written and presenting
  • Ability to quickly assimilate, analyse and conclude on information
  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior division heads
  • Time management skills with the drive and resilience to work
  • under pressure to tight timescales whilst paying attention to detail
  • Ability to apply core disciplines such as leadership, motivation, prioritisation and planning
