United Trust Bank (UTB) Asset Finance has won two highly contested titles at the Asset Finance Solutions Funder Awards 2023. The Bank was named ‘Refinance Funder of the Year’, and UTB Broker Development Manager, Kerry Pickering, picked up the individual award for ‘Broker Manager of the Year’.
The awards were given at a spectacular event held at The Belfry following the Asset Finance Solutions ‘Meet the Funder’ Conference. The awards, which honour outstanding contributions to the world of Asset Finance, were a highlight of the event, with winners being nominated and voted for by the AFS Appointed Representative community.
These latest awards complete a remarkable year for the UTB Asset Finance division, with the team and individuals winning no less than ten awards in 2023 including ‘SME Champion’ in the Leasing Life Awards, ‘Top Specialist Car Funder’ and ‘Innovation’ awards at the Leasing World Gold Awards and ‘Underwriting Team of the Year’ at the NACFB Commercial Lender Awards. Individual award winners include Louse McIntosh, who won an ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’, Katie Stretch, who was named in the Leasing Foundation’s ’30 under 30’ list and of course Kerry Pickering being the most recent award winner. In addition, Underwriter Essie Quinnel was Highly Commended in two different awards recognising rising stars in the industry.
Nathan Mollett, Head of Asset Finance at UTB, said: “We love working with AFS and their Appointed Representatives and I’m delighted that our focus on delivering an excellent refinance proposition has been recognised and rewarded. I’m also chuffed to see Kerry named ‘Broker Manager of the Year’. She is an outstanding BDM and thoroughly deserves the win.
“2023 has been an excellent year for UTB Asset Finance. We have written record levels of new business and our replatforming to Alfa Start with the integration of innovative KYC and auto underwriting solutions, has improved our speed and service to brokers and sets us up for further growth next year. My thanks and congratulations to the whole team who have worked extremely hard and deserve all the praise and awards we have collectively won throughout the year.”
