United Trust Bank (UTB) Bridging underwriter Nathan Wilson was announced as the first winner of the Association of Short Term Lenders’ (ASTL) Benson Hersch Memorial Bursary.
The award was presented by Jonathan Newman, Senior Partner at Brightstone Law, and it is the first to be given in memory of the late former CEO of the ASTL.
The bursary was created to help train and develop individuals who demonstrate an appetite to promote the interests of the short-term mortgage lending community, as well as a commitment to the values promoted by the association.
Announcing the winner Jonathan Newman said: “Our winner is said to demonstrate a huge depth of knowledge, strong work ethic, integrity, tenacity, and potential to be a thought leader in the industry — these are the very same values that Benson held so dear.
“But what marks this individual out as a very worthy winner is his clear and obvious commitment to increase his personal knowledge, to expand his expertise and develop his professionalism for the good of his colleagues, his business, and for short-term lending.”
